English: The Scream, by Edvard Munch. This version, executed in 1910 in tempera on cardboard, was stolen from the Munch Museum in 2004, and recovered in 2006.

فارسی: تابلوی جیغ که توسط ادوارد مونک کشیده شده‌است. این اثر که در فاصلهٔ زمانی ۱۸۹۳ تا ۱۹۱۰ خلق شده‌است، معروف‌ترین نقاشی مونک است و از نمادهای اکسپرسیونیسم برشمرده می‌شود. نقاشی‌های مونک، هرچند آشکارا به نمایش واقعیت می‌پردازد، از تخدیش و رنگ‌های اغراق‌آمیز برای تجلی دادن جهانی درونی‌تر استفاده می‌کند. تابلوی جیغ آکنده از احساس وحشت و انرژی ویرانگری است که نمی‌توان مهارش کرد. جیغ بخشی از سه گروه آثار مونک با مضامین عشق، رنج و مرگ است که خود مونک آن‌ها را مجموعاً «کتیبهٔ زندگی» می‌نامید.
