Civilingenjör Einar Bergström, född den 27.5.1919, har sedan den 15.8.1951 varit verksam vid vårt aerodynamiska kontor.

Från anställningens början 1951 till mitten av 1957 handhade han där alla aerodynamiska problem rörande inre strömning. Huvudsakligen rörde det sig om problem i samband med motorinstallationen , speciellt liftintag och senare även samverkan mellan motorutlopp och bakkroppsform. Dessa arbetsuppgifter voro i huvudsak knutna till flygplanen Lansen och Draken. Under slutet av perioden har civilingenjör Bergström även bedrivit utvecklingsarbete på luftintag I dubbla ljudhastigheten. I samband med ovanstående uppgifter handlade civilingenjör Bergström planering, uppföljning och tillämpning av den omfattande vindtunnelprovningen., som utfördes av olika externa institutioner, ävensom kontakt med den engelska motorlicensgivaren.

Sedan år 1957 har civilingenjör Bergström varit aerodynamisk typledare, under de första åren på ett antal civilprojekt och sedan 1960 på flygplan 105 (Sk 60). I denna funktion har han samordnat aerodynamiska kontorets arbete på respektive flygplanstyp och varit kontorets kontaktman gentemot övriga instanser inom företaget.

Jämsides med dessa arbetsuppgifter har Bergström handlagt det aerodynamiska arbetet gällande markeffektfarkoster speciellt Saab 401.

Civilingenjör Bergström besitter mycket gedigna kunskaper inom aerodynamiken, speciellt i fråga om inre strömning. Han har dessutom visat sig ha en god allmän kunskap och har med stor fantasi löst mångskiftande tekniska problem. Sina arbetsuppgifter har han skött med stort intresse och stor energi och på ett ur allmän synpunkt trevligt sätt. När han nu på egen begäran lämnar företaget, är det därför ett nöje att rekommendera honom på det allra bästa.

MSc Engeneering Einar Bergström , born on 27 May 1919, has been active at our aerodynamic office since 15 August 1951.

From the beginning of his employment in 1951 to the middle of 1957, he handled all aerodynamic problems concerning internal flow. These were mainly problems in connection with the engine installation, especially lift intake and later also the interaction between engine outlet and rear body shape. These tasks were mainly related to the Saab 32 Lansen and Saab 35 Draken aircraft. During the end of the period, engineer Bergström also carried out development work on air intakes at twice the speed of sound. In connection with the above tasks, engineer Bergström dealt with the planning, follow-up and application of the extensive wind tunnel test, which was carried out by various external institutions, as well as contact with the English motor licensor.

Since 1957, engineer Bergström has been the aerodynamic type leader, during the first years on a number of civilian projects and since 1960 on aircraft Saab 105 (Sk 60). In this function, he has coordinated the aerodynamic office's work on each aircraft type and been the office's liaison with other bodies within the company.

In addition to these tasks, Bergström has handled the aerodynamic work regarding hovercrafts, especially the Saab 401.

MSc Bergström has very solid knowledge in aerodynamics, especially in terms of internal flow. He has also proved to have a good general technological knowledge and has with great intuition solved diverse technical problems. He has carried out his duties with great interest and great energy and in a pleasant way from a general point of view. When he now leaves the company at his own request, it is therefore a pleasure to recommend him at the very best.
