DESK AND STOVE INSIDE THE NEW MOTOR DISPATCHCARS of all cars with motors and multiple-unit double-endcontrol makes it possible for any number of cars, de-pending on whatever the volume of business may re-quire, to be run as a single train. The limiting factorat present is that for any shipments which pass throughWilmette, 111., a four-car train is the maximum whichmay be taken through the streets, in compliance witha local ordinance.

A FOUR-CAR TRAIN OF THE NEW MOTOR DISPATCH CARS RECENTLY PUT IN SERVICE BY THE NORTH SHORE I.T>rR. 1064 Electric Railway Journal Vol. 55, No. 21 Since one of the main receiving terminals for thismerchandise service is at Wilson Avenue in Chicago,necessitating that the cars run over the elevated struc-ture from Wilson Avenue to Wilmette, all cars areequipped with third-rail shoes as well as double trolleys. The car bodies are built with four end-side slidingdoors and a train door in the center of each vestibule.Inside the car, at the center, a desk and pigeon-holerack are provided for the conductor to make out anddistribute his waybills and records. The lower partof this desk forms a cabinet, in which the air governor,the control and motor cutouts and what other controland brake equipment must be placed within the carbody are installed.
