English: Empilement de milliers de souches de pins, après désouchage mécanique d'une coupe rase 2018 Landes de Gascogne, sur substrat sableux oligotrophe, dans un contexte de sylviculture très intensive. Ces souches auraient pu être une source de carbone et de mycéliums favorable à la conservation de l'eau et du carbone dans le sol, et à l' amélioration du sol (originellement non forestier dans cette région sableuse). Dans ce type de sylviculture, cette biomasse est difficile à valoriser thermiquement car contenant des restes de sables et d'éventuels cailloux qui usent ou cassent les couteaux de déchiquetage.
Français : Stacking of thousands of "Landes pine" stumps, after mechanical removal of pine stumps in an industrial big clearcutting, on an oligotrophic sandy substrate, in a context of very intensive silviculture, in France ( Landes de Gascogne ), august 2018. These stumps could have been a source of carbon and of mycelium favorable to the conservation of water and carbon in the soil, and to the improvement of soil (originally non-forested in this sandy region). In this sort of industrial silviculture, this biomass is difficult to valorize thermally because those remnants contain yet sand and pebbles that use or break the shredding knives. |
