Description
English: Le Puy-en-Velay, Aighuilhe, Polignac et Espaly-Saint-Marcel, Haute-Loire, Auvergne, France. Viewing west-north-west from the high-up perched Saint-Michel church of Aighuilhe.

At the forefront, the green squares are the tennis courts next to the camping site of Aiguilhe; but the two furthest courts are in the territory of Le Puy.
On the left near the edge of the photo, the set of buildings forming a near-square is Le Puy's fire station, along the place de la République.
The Borne river flows left to right (west-east) just behind the fire station and the camping site; a continuous ribbon of trees marks its course.
Facing the camping site on the opposite side of the river, is the Emile Roux hospital (on Le Puy-en-Velay) spreading from the right side of the photo over 2/3 of its width.
Mid-distance on the right: Polignac, with on the horizon line its recently rebuilt dungeon of the castle of Polignac. (Polignac reaches up to the left bank of the Borne opposite the fire station.)
Mid-distance on the left: Espaly-Saint-Marcel.

In the middle: the inactive volcano of Mont Denise with its antenna at the top and, to its left slightly behind, a volcanic rock formation known as Orgues d'Espaly.

Les carrés verts au premier plan sont les terrains de tennis attenants au camping d'Aiguilhe, mais les deux terrains de tennis les plus éloignés sont sur la commune du Puy.
A gauche près de la bordure de la photo, l'ensemble de bâtiments formant un parallélépipède est la caserne des pompiers du Puy, le long de la Place de la Libération.
La rivière la Borne coule juste derrière, de gauche à droite (d'ouest en est) ; on en suit le tracé grâce aux arbres qui la bordent en continu.
Sur la rive opposée au terrain de camping d'Aiguilhe, on voit l'hôpital Emile Roux (sur Le Puy), grand ensemble d'immeubles qui s'étend sur les 2/3 droits de la photo.
Au-delà, à mi-distance à droite se trouve la commune de Polignac avec, sur la ligne d'horizon, le donjon du château de Polignac. (Polignac s'étend jusqu'en rive gauche de la Borne en face de la caserne de pompiers.)
A mi-distance à gauche se trouve Espaly-Saint-Marcel.

A l'arrière-plan, au centre le volcan de la Denise (ses flancs est et sud-est sont sur Espaly) avec son antenne au sommet et, à sa gauche, la formation rocheuse volcanique dite Orgues d'Espaly.
