Description |
English: Two profiles of Italian World War II fighter biplane Fiat C.R.42 Falco. Top: A Fiat C.R.42 of Regia Aeronautica's 162nd Squadron (162a Squadriglia), 161st Autonomous Land Fighter Group (46o Gruppo Autonomo C.T.) based in Maritsa, Rhodes, Greece in 1942. This aircraft, rebuilt using many original parts, has been on display since 2005 at the Italian Air Force Museum in Vigna di Valle, not far from Rome. Bottom: A Fiat C.R.42 of Svenska Flygvapnet's Wing F 9, based in Kiruna, Sweden, in 1942. Note the skis that replaced the original wheeled undercarriage for winter operations in northern climates. Italiano: Due profili del biplano da caccia italiano della seconda guerra mondiale Fiat C.R.42 Falco. In alto: un Fiat C.R.42 della 162a Squadriglia del 161o Gruppo Autonomo C.T. (Caccia Terrestre), che era basato a Maritsa, Rodi, Grecia nel 1942. Questo velivolo, ricostruito impiegando molte parti originali, è conservato al Museo Storico dell'Aeronautica Militare di Vigna di Valle, vicino a Roma. In basso: un C.R.42 della Wing F 9 della Svenska Flygvapnet, che era basata a Kiruna, Svezia nel 1942.
