Notes
  • Significance: Built about 1705 to satisfy terms of the New Paltz patent that a fort be provided for protection, this stone dwelling was a village, social, and political meeting place through the 18th century. The house was owned until 1968 by descendants of pioneer leader Louis DeBois, and their alterations over the years provide a record of six generations of American life.
  • Unprocessed Field note material exists for this structure: FN-397
  • Survey number: HABS NY-6132
