Description |
Deutsch: Repräsentatives, ausdrucksvoll charakterisierendes Barock-Bildnis des Grafen mit Allongeperücke in einem Harnisch, wohl ein Porträt des Jakobus Arnoldus (Arent) de Perponcher Sedlnitzky (1692-1771), Oberhofmeister am Hof zu Brabant. Frans van Stampart wurde 1692/93 Mitglied der Antwerpener Gilde und war ab 1698 in Wien zuerst unter Kaiser Leopold I. als Hofmaler tätig. Als gefragter Porträtist wirkte er überdies für eine Reihe europäischer Höfe sowie den süddeutschen und östereichischen Adel. Werke des Malers befinden sich in Museen in Brüssel, Köln und Wien sowie bedeutenden Schlösser-Sammlungen. Rahmen. Alte Schwarzweiß-Fotografien in der Sammlung des Bildindex Marburg zeigen das Gemälde um/vor 1938/39. |
