Summary[edit]

Description

The Charter Gardens, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. Here you can see the back of the Charter Tower (<a href="https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101262943-charter-tower-dacorum" rel="noreferrer nofollow">Grade II* listed building</a> and <a href="https://ancientmonuments.uk/103500-the-charter-tower-hemel-hempstead-dacorum-hemel-hempstead-town-ward" rel="noreferrer nofollow">Scheduled Monument</a>) and the garden walls are also <a href="https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101251093-garden-walls-of-manor-house-dacorum" rel="noreferrer nofollow">Grade II lited</a>. A plaque states that the Charter Gardens are the probable site of the first and second medieval and Tudor manor houses known as "Bury". The public space is now maintained by Dacorum Borough Council.

GOC Hertfordshire's walk on 9 December 2017, an 8-mile circular walk in and around Hemel Hempstead, including Gadebridge Park, Piccotts End, Water End (Great Gaddesden), Fields End, Pouchen End, Winkwell, Boxmoor, Water Gardens and Old Town.
