Description
English: Birth chairs were used in childbirth until the 18th century. Only when aspiring doctors - at that time only men - also learned obstetrics, was the birthing chair exchanged for the bed.
Deutsch: Bis ins 18. Jahrhundert wurden bei Geburten Gebärstühle eingesetzt. Erst als angehende Mediziner – damals ausschließlich Männer – auch Geburtshilfe lernten, wurde der Gebärstuhl gegen das Bett eingetauscht.
