THE CIRRENT FAMILY M( tion at Redke3r, I was entertained at the home ofMrs. Eliza J. Current, and there met her son, Oscar,for the first time. This acquaintance resulted inour marriage about two )rears later. His early lifehas been given in this narrative by his sisterAnnie, and I shall only refer to his life as I haveknown it. The first three years of our marriedlife we spent at the home of his mother. Duringthis time he cultivated her farm and also engagedin some real estate business, laying out two addi-tions to the town of Redkey. He had bought thefarm which used to be known as the Phillips farm,and in 1892 laid out nine acres into a beautifulcemeterj. It is little more than half a mile fromthe south side of town. Oscars cousin, CaptainWilliam P. Hobson, of Pueblo, Colorado, madethe draft for the plat and named it Hill Crest.In the center is a circular plat for fountain andornamental plants and trees; in other parts of thecemetery are different shaped ornamental plats.The sections
