Westfälisches) Nr. 8 und Georg V. als Kommandant des Kürassier-Regiments „Graf Gessler“ (Rheinisches) Nr. 8. Nikolaus trägt den Schwarzen Adlerorden und den Stern des Hosenbandordens, Georg den russischen Orden des Heiligen Andreas des Erstberufenen, den Schwarzen Adlerorden, den Hosenbandorden und den Order of the Bath. Anlass des Besuchs in Berlin war die Heirat von Ernst August von Hannover mit Prinzessin Viktoria Luise von Preußen, der einzigen Tochter Wilhelms II.. Nikolaus II., Georg V. und Wilhelm II. waren Cousins.
