Description

This fortress from the time of World War II is no longer secret. But it is still used by the army as accommodation for troops. Kastels is one of the three largest fortifications in the Sargans area. It is still entirely in military hands. Fort <a href="http://www.afom.ch/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Magletsch</a> is also still used as accommodation for troops, but the battle-technical part is operated by a club and open to the public. And <a href="http://www.festung-furggels.ch/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Furggels</a>, the largest fortress is entirely in private hands. A special function Kastels gets during the WEF (World Economic Forum) in Davos. In a few days, the command center of the army for the WEF support operation is established here. During the WEF, this entrance is only for suppliers (Tel: 4841). Mels, Switzerland, Jan 8, 2013.
