Description
English: H.K. Porter narrow gauge steam locomotive, a so-called "dinky", during construction of the stone dam in Holyoke, Massachusetts. The loco has probably with 7x12 inch cylinders and 24 inch drivers and ran on a temporary narrow gauge railroad that was built to carry out excavated rock and bring building supplies to the work site during the 1895-1900 construction of the dam. South Hadley is on the left and Holyoke on the right. In the background is the South Hadley bridge, which was constructed in 1889.
