Handskar till Karl X Gustavs kröningsdräkt.
Description
English: Gloves of white glazed kidskin with large cuffs embroidered with polychrome silks, gold thread, purl and sequins. The lower part of the collar is designed with medallions in which are embroidered various animals. Flowing stems separate the medallions, terminated by naturalistically-shaped flowers at the top edge of the cuff (mallow, pansy, carnation and daffodil). The flowers are separated by gold lace edging that divides the angular tabs. The skin is not shaved. In the 1867 Livrustkammar inventory these gloves were combined with Charles X's coronation dress. This task can only be traced to the 1855 inventory. The original silver lace-decorated coronation gloves had by then disappeared. The above-described glove and Inv. No. 21054 are of an earlier date, about 1610. This glove has no secure provenance and it cannot be determined when it was incorporated into the clothing collection.
