說明： 漢字的基本字體，有：篆書、隸書、楷書、行書、草書。本圖還包括了書法和印刷的美術字體，前者如歐體、顏體，後者如宋體、黑體。 注意：若依歷史時間，簡化漢字乃出現在楷書、行書之後，故此本來並無簡化的隸書、草書，表中簡化漢字的「隶体」，係指模仿隸書風格而寫成的簡化字，屬人們因書法美術而建構出來的字體而已。圖中名稱以綠色表示的，是歷史發展的字體；以紅色標示的，則是書法或美術設計上的字型。
