NOAA 11302 was a highly 'flare-productive' active region. Two X-class and fourteen M-class (GOES X-Ray Class) flares were observed around the region in a week (from 22-Sep-2011 through 28-Sep-2011). This movie shows the most active 4 days, over which various types of activities can be observed. For example, the still frame above (see original post; link below) shows post-flare loops after the M7.4 flare on 2011/09/25.

Hinode is a Japanese mission developed and launched by ISAS/JAXA, with NAOJ as domestic partner and NASA and STFC (UK) as international partners. It is operated by these agencies in co-operation with ESA and the NSC (Norway).
