Description
Miniature painting by Bitchitr from around 1630 - now at the Chester Beatty Library, Dublin. It depicts three of the most important emperors of the Mughal Period. Said to be the greatest of them all, Akbar is in the center, his son, Jahangir, is to his right, and his grandson, Shah Jahan, is to his left. The painting was commissioned by Shah Jahan, the builder of the Taj Mahal.
