"La Real y Militar Orden de San Fernando, como Orden Militar, tiene la potestad de utilizar Escudos representativos de la misma y de sus dignidades. 1. El Escudo de la Real y Militar Orden de San Fernando tiene la siguiente composición: escudo de contorno circular. En campo de oro rayado por haces de gules, efigie de San Fernando en su color, de frente y a pie, con armadura de plata y manto de gules forrado de armiños y coronado de oro. Empuñando, brazo en alto, una espada de oro en la mano diestra, terciada a la siniestra; en la siniestra sostiene un mundo de azur, con el semimeridiano y ecuador de oro, sumado de una cruz latina de lo mismo. A sus pies, una bandera de gules a la diestra y otra de azur a la siniestra, ambas armadas de oro. El todo está enmarcado por bordura de azur con la inscripción en oro: «REAL Y MILITAR ORDEN DE SAN FERNANDO», separada entre su inicio y final por aspa en oro. Acolada al Escudo una cruz de esmalte blanco fileteada de oro, de igual diseño que la de Malta, rematándose sus ocho puntas con globillos de oro. A su vez, acoladas a la cruz, dos ramas de laurel de sinople, frutadas de gules, unidas por sus troncos y liadas en punta con lazo de gules. El todo timbrado de Corona Real de España."
