فارسی: کرانه یا ساحل یا دریابار منطقه تماس بین دریا و خشکی است. اصطلاح ساحل برای مساحت بین حداکثر مد و پایه پرتگاه‌های ساحلی در سواحل مرتفع و برای نواحی واقع بین حداقل جزر و بالاترین مرز پیشروی امواج طوفان نیز به کار می‌رود. (تصاویر مربوط به سواحل شهر استانبول در کنار دریای مرمره - عکاسی با موبایل)
Deutsch: Ein Strand ist ein flacher Küsten- oder Uferstreifen aus Sand oder Geröll.
Ein Strand aus grobkörnigen bis feinem Sand in unterschiedlichen Farben wird als Sandstrand bezeichnet. Meistens sind diese Strände bräunlich oder weiß. Daneben gibt es auch Strände aus schwarzem (auf Vulkan-Inseln) und (sehr selten) rosa Sand. Im Unterschied zu Stränden aus Kies oder Geröll (Steinstrand) gelten (insbesondere weiße) Sandstrände als wichtiges Merkmal für Urlaubsorte und Ferienhotels. Oft finden sich an Sandstränden Sanddünen.Español: Una playa es un depósito de sedimentos no consolidados que varían entre arena y grava, excluyendo el fango ya que no es un plano aluvial o costa de manglar, que se extiende desde la base de la duna o el límite donde termina la vegetación hasta una profundidad por donde los sedimentos ya no se mueven. Svenska: Strand är gränsområdet mellan öppet vatten och fastare land. Stränder kan i vissa fall ha torvbildande vegetation. De kan vara skogbevuxna och skogen kallas då strandskog eller strandsumpskog. Stränder påverkas ofta av vågor och tidvatten.

Français : Une plage est une berge en pente douce ou très douce1, ainsi que, dans une acception plus étendue qui tend de plus en plus à être d'ordre maritime depuis le xixe siècle, un rivage oblique, assez peu prononcé par rapport à l'horizontale, qui se poursuit longuement sous le niveau de l'eau2. Cette morphologie de la berge ou du rivage par rapport au plan d'eau, à la rivière ou à la mer favorisent l'échouage des embarcations ou des navires, comme l'atterrissement des corps et matériaux transportés par les flots ou poussés par les courants.

Norsk bokmål: En strand er en stripe land som grenser til hav eller ferskvann. Strender er en egen type geografisk område med sitt eget biologiske system. I dette grenseområdet møtes akvatiske og landlevende organismer. Strender er utfordrende leveområder, og organismene må tåle oversvømmelse, uttørking, salt, bølgekrefter, vind og sterk sol. En skiller mellom bergstrender der fjellet ligger i dagen, og løsmassestrender med mudder, sand eller grus. |
