English: James Pirie was sentenced to 5 Years Penal Servitude for Sheep stealing.
On release, on 05-Oct-1880, he was 25 years old; his complexion was described as fresh, his hair black, and his eyes blue. His height was 5 feet 8 inches. He was noted as having the following distinguishing marks: Blind from left eye. His address on release was 28 Virginia Street, Aberdeen, Aberdeen. This image has been uploaded as part of the transcription project of the Register of Returned Convicts of Aberdeen (1869-1939), involving the Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Archives and Code the City.
