Description |
English: Lot Essay: "With a copy of a certificate from Justus Müller Hofstede, dated April 1990, proposing an attribution to König.
The composition would seem to be derived from Annibale Carracci's Landscape with Diana and Callisto, in the collection of the Duke of Sutherland, which is thought to have remained in Italy until 1634, when it was taken to France. The metal support, a brass alloy, would corellate with an origin in or near Nuremburg." |
