English: A type of Jomon pottery representative of the middle Jomon period (about 5, 000 years ago) discovered & restored by the survey of the Umataka remains of Nagaoka City in 1936. The first pottery which excavated in the survey is called "Kaen Doki (Flame-Rimmed Cooking Vessel)", and other things which have the same type of rim are called "Kaengata Doki". This name was born because it has a shape as if it imitated a flame.
