Description
English: Governor of Kerala, Justice P. Sathasivam, paid an official visit to Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala on 3-4 April 2016. The Governor was on his maiden visit to the Academy. He was accompanied by his wife Saraswathi Sathasivam and personal staff. The Governor was received by Vice Admiral Girish Luthra, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command and Rear Admiral MD Suresh, Officiating Commandant on his arrival on 3rd April at the INA helipad. He addressed the cadets of INA on the topic of 'Leadership Challenges for Young India' wherein he highlighted the preparations to be made by the young generation for overcoming future challenges. The Governor also interacted with the cadets socially through a ceremonial Mess Night held in his honour. On 4 April, the Governor reviewed a ceremonial Guard of Honour by the cadets of INA. Subsequently he was formally briefed on various aspects of infrastructure development, training processes and means adopted to keep training at INA designed to meet the future Navy needs The Hon'ble Governor also visited various training facilities such as simulators, seamanship trainer, training areas, Cadets’ squadrons, firing range, outdoor training facilities, library, technical labs, etc. The Hon'ble Governor and Mrs Saraswathi Sathasivam departed INA in the afternoon for Kochi. Visits by emminent personalities to the INA are scheduled to broaden the horizons of the future naval officers towards providing them a better perspective on issues of importance and help them become men and women of honour.
