Description
Nederlands: In 1662 kopen de Engelse franciscanessen het hoofdgebouw van het verlaten Prinsenhof in Brugge van de toenmalige eigenaar Rogier de Ghelder. Onmiddellijk werd gestart met de herstellings- en aanpassingswerken van de vervallen gebouwen. Daarvoor konden de zusters rekenen op de steun van twee belangrijke weldoeners: Henri Howard, hertog van Norfolk, en zijn vriend nl. De laatste woonde ook in het Prinsenhof. Zijn huis werd beschreven als een schoon en magnifijcq juijs met twee stenen gevels en een grote poort en is vermoedelijk naast het Klooster afgebeeld op de tekening van Charles Custis.
