Description

Jeonju Hyanggyo is a Confucian school that was established during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) and was rebuilt at its present Jeonju site in 1603.

  • There are a total of 99 rooms at the hyanggyo. The memorial enshrinement, Daeseongjeon, is in the front, while the lecture hall, Myeongyundang is in the rear.
  • This style of building arrangement is very rare for a hyanggyo.
  • Designated National Treasure No. 379.
