Description
English: Sepulchral stone Roman period found in Abia de las Torres (Palencia, Castile-Leon). Undoubted importance in pre-Roman and Roman era, found findings for the people that so attested are abundant. Roman post-or their ruins, maybe extracted the fragment of sepulchral tombstone that today is embedded in the portico of the Church of the village, which was built in 1776. D. Francisco Simon and Nieto describes him as a tombstone of 40 cm. height 25 cm. wide and 35 mm high lyrics This tombstone reads: .....Li[cirnus?] genero pientissimo, militi immuni...... That could be translated as: ".....Licirno to his son-in-law piadosissimo, soldier exempt......".
Español: Lápida sepulcral de época romana hallada en Abia de las Torres (Palencia, Castilla y León). De indudable importancia en época prerromana y romana, son abundantes los hallazgos encontrados a lo largo del pueblo que así lo atestiguan. De ápoca romana, o de sus ruinas, se extrajo tal vez el fragmento de lápida sepulcral que hoy se ve incrustado en el pórtico de la iglesia parroquial de la villa, que fue construido en 1776. D. Francisco Simón y Nieto lo describe como una lápida de 40 cm. de alto por 25cm. de ancho y letras altas de 35 mm. en esta lápida se puede leer: .....Li[cirnus?] genero pientissimo, militi immuni...... Que se puede traducir como: .....Licirno a su yerno piadosisimo, soldado exento......
