Мемориальный знак устанавливается на фасаде дома, адрес которого стал для этого человека последним. English: The Last Address Sign is a commemorative plaque that is installed on the last known residential address of victims of the Soviet Union's Communist regime. The memorial sign is a small, 11x19 cm stainless steel plaque that contains information about the repressed person. This information usually contains his or her name, profession, date of birth, date of arrest, date and reason of death (was shot or died in a Soviet concentration camp), and date of rehabilitation ('for lack of corpus delicti').

В воскресенье, 2 апреля 2017 года, в Москве на стене арки дома №6 по Тверской улице были установлены памятные таблички «Последний адрес» с именами юриста Николая Филипповича Попова, расстрелянного в апреле 1938 года по обвинению в «участии в контрреволюционной террористической организации», и директора МХАТа Якова Иосифовича Боярского-Шимшелевича, расстрелянного в феврале 1940 года по обвинению в «участии в контрреволюционной организации».

Церемония установки табличек была прервана вмешательством отряда полиции, которым руководил Заместитель начальника полиции по охране общественного порядка подполковник С.В. Никитин (ОВД Тверское). После переговоров церемония была продолжена и, как пишет Сергей Пархоменко, "Некоторым даже тогда показалось, что на лицах за забралами «космонавтов» появилось какое-то такое особенное выражение, которое свидетельствовало, что они вдруг задумались о смысле того, что здесь происходит.

Так вот, теперь, - продолжает С. Пархоменко, - можно рассказать, что события на Тверской для «Последнего адреса» на этом не кончились. Ровно через сутки те злополучные таблички снова исчезли. Выяснилось, что их «на всякий случай» все-таки распорядилась снять управляющая компания дома. Дескать, дыма без огня не бывает, и раз приходил ОМОН, значит это что-то «противозаконное».

Прошло почти две недели. И наконец можно считать, что кризис преодолен и справедливоcть восстановлена. Среди чиновников тоже была проведена разъяснительная работа. Непонятное было растолковано. Неизвестное - рассказано. И сегодня таблички снова на месте, и им уже ничего не угрожает".
