This afternoon I wanted to try to photograph a windmill in the fields near Peize. Just after I arrived at the spot, the landowner came towards me. I thought he was going to tell me that I wasn't allowed to be on his property, but then I saw he walked towards a pony. When he started pulling something behind her, I asked if I could help. After he said yes I walked in his direction and then I saw that he was pulling a dead foal that was halfway of getting born. Only his head and his front legs were visible.
Only after pulling for about five minutes we managed to get him out. The foal was indeed dead, his mother didn't even check if he was breathing or not. As if she knew. The owner tried to make her stand up, but she wouldn't. Like she didn't care anymore what happened next. The old man started to pull the foal away and I picked up my camera. The next pictures don't need words to explain I think...
