Si nous étudions les rapports du rein par la cavité abdominale,nous voyons, en ouvrant soigneusement le ventre et rabattant à droiteet à gauche les parois, que le rein gauche nest recouvert que parquelques anses intestinales qui se laissent facilement refouler versla droite; tandis quà droite, il faut pour apercevoir le rein relever lefoie vers le haut et attirer à gauche les anses de lintestin grêle etsouvent même encore la partie moyenne du duodénum, le « replishépatique » du colon ascendant et le commencement du côlon trans-verse refoulé vers le bas ; à droite on aperçoit donc dabord les deuxtiers supérieurs du rein, et à gauche les deux tiers inférieurs.
