| Description |
Français : Le voilier « Tahia » amarré dans le Bassin des Chalutiers au port de La Rochelle. Il est le « porte-drapeau » de la fondation Maud Fontenoy qui a pour objet la défense de l’ écosystème marin (protection des océans et du littoral) et de faire découvrir la mer à des enfants malades.
Ce voilier, alors appelé « L’ Oréal Paris », est le bateau avec lequel la navigatrice Maud Fontenoy a effectué en 2006-2007 un tour de l' hémisphère sud en solitaire à contre-courant des vents et des courants marins dominants. Elle est partie de La Réunion vers le Cap de Bonne Espérance, puis vers le Cap Horn. Elle a ensuite traversé l’ océan en direction du Cap Leeuwin (Australie) et a rejoint La Réunion. Habituellement, ce périple est effectué dans le sens inverse afin de profiter de la force des vents et des courants marins. Ce voilier (monocoque) à la coque en aluminium a une longueur de 26 mètres, une largeur de 5,40 mètres et un mât de 28,50 mètres de hauteur. Sa grand voile mesure 170 m2 et son spinnaker léger 450 m2 (le lourd 350 m2). Il a été construit en 2001 par les chantiers Gamelin de La Rochelle pour le navigateur Jean-Luc Van den Heede. Il portait, à cette époque, le nom d’ « Adrien ».
