Description

Marmouset (détail d'un triton) de l'allée d'eau

L'allée d'eau ou l'allée des Marmousets est orientée selon l'axe nord-sud.

Les Marmousets sont des figures enfantines imaginées par l'architecte Claude Perrault (1613 – 1688) Ce sont des petits tritons, des faunes, des naïades. Chaque figure est en double Plusieurs sculpteurs ont contribué à leur réalisation.

Au départ, les vasques portaient des fleurs mais elles ont été rapidement transformées en fontaines
