Summary[edit]

Description
English: Little Cassiobury, Hempstead Road, Watford, WD17 3EY is listed by Historic England as grade II* "at risk". Built in the late 17th century it is the former Dower House to the old Cassiobury Estate, Watford, UK.

The 1938 Country Life article showing when it was a family home can be seen on the Little Cassiobury CIC website.

It was bought by Hertfordshire County Council under a compulsory purchase order at the end of the 1930s. They built the old Watford College in its grounds. The County Council used Little Cassiobury for offices for the rest of the 20th century. It has remained unused since they vacated it around 10 years ago.

The Little Cassiobury CIC are working towards leasing the building to repair, and preserve it for future generations by using it as a community heritage and arts centre.
