Summary[edit]

Description
English: Goat on the arid karst of the Peloponnes browsing a young tree. When there are too many livestock feeding too long on a limited area, vegetation is unable to recover. “overgrazing” causes erosion and then soil contamination. Deterioration of the mediterranian environment into overgrazed shrubland (summers hot and dry, winters rainy) started centuries ago. The traditional animal husbandry inhibits sustainable development.
