Summary[edit]

Description A U.S. Navy Lockheed PO-1W Warning Star prototype AWACS aircraft in 1949/50. In 1952 the PO-1W was re-designated WV-1. The PO-1W/WV-1 was based on the L-749 Constellation, whereas the later WV-2 was based on the L-1049 Super Constellation. After 1962 the WV-2 became the EC-121K. As the WV-1 was already out of service, it was not re-designated again.
