English: Lower Wyche Spout and Trough - 2007 Well Dressing - Elgar The winner (again) in this year's competition. Themed on the "Dream of Gerontius". Photographs cannot do it justice A path meanders through the arch and amongst the trees to the spout where an old man sits. "... the old man, dying, sits by the spring which may be the source of the river Lethe. His soul has started on its pathway, through our landscape inspired by our reading of such writers as Dante, Spenser and Pullman. stories of near-death experiences, speak of a white light, so white dominates our design." |
