Quite a few routes never reach Floriana, so I commend all visitors to Malta to take one of the three-figure routes to this somewhat windswept postmodernist townscape. I was rewarded with this chromed beauty operating the 810 service to Dingli. Beyind a modern King Long FBY 653 on the 890 route westwards to Qormi and Siggiewa, served from Floriana by the 89. For some reason, these services cost twice the fare of those going to Floriana, something in common with other routes from other bus stations such as Sliema or St Paul's Bay. Perhaps it is a tax on sickness or education! However, with a convenient Maltese Bus pass, one doesn't have to worry about such matters. On our arrival, the bus station here was full then, in a flash, they all vanished at once. Wonderful, as is the reflected light on a very wet day. Perkins bus or Perkins diesel engine. |
