Summary[edit]

Description
English: The MSC can differentiate into the osteoblast (bone) or adipocyte (fat) lineage as well as other lineages (e.g. muscle). Physical factors such as mechanical strain- the in vitro equivalent of exercise- repress adipogenic differentiation. Transcription factors can promote adipogenic (PPARg) or osteogenic (mTORC2) differentiation.
