Description
English: Mechelen is a city located between Antwerp and Brussels, on the river the Dijle, with a remarkable historic center. Mechelen has 8 interesting churches and remarkable historic buildings. On the market, St Rumbold's Cathedral is worth a visit (built in the 13th century, Gothic style). The tower counts six floors, you can climb the 538 steps up for a beautiful view over the city at a height of 97 meters.
Nederlands: Mechelen is een stad gelegen tussen Antwerpen en Brussel, aan de rivier de Dijle, met een merkwaardig historisch centrum. Mechelen telt 8 bezienswaardige kerken en opmerkelijke historische panden. Op de Markt torent de Sint-Romboutskathedraal boven de stad uit (bouwjaar 13de eeuw, gotische stijl). De toren telt zes verdiepingen en je kan de 538 treden naar boven beklimmen voor een mooi uitzicht over de stad op 97 meter hoogte.
