Notes NZ Long and Efficient Service Medal Group Captain Thomas James Denton OBE, RNZAF. WW1 military service- Canterbury Mounted Rifles and then with the Royal Flying Corps. Served with the Canterbury Regiment post-WW1 and then with the New Zealand Permanent Air Force. Served with the RNZAF during WW2. Thomas Denton was the only NZPAF recipient of the King's Medal for Champion Shot of the Military Forces
