English: Memorial Cross. Situated in the hedgerow on the left on the road from Aldbrough-St-John to Stanwick. Supposedly a memorial to a friend of the dowager 'duchess' of Stanwick who was killed when his horse shied at this spot. R.B JANy 24th 1878. |
