Deutsch: Tafel „Entwickelung des Menschen“ zum Artikel „Embryo“, Original-Bildunterschriften:

  • Fig. 5. Ei der achten Woche (geöffnet, der Embryo herausgenommen). Natürl. Größe.
  • Fig. 6. Embryo der zwölften Woche in seinen Eihäuten, natürl. Größe.
  • Fig. 7. Blutkreislauf vor der Geburt.
    Der Nabelstrang ist vom Mutterkuchen getrennt. Das sauerstoffhaltige (rote) Blut strömt von der Placenta durch die Nabelvene ein, geht zum Teil zur Leber, zum Teil, mit dem Darmvenenblut gemischt (violett), durch den Ductus Arantii zur untern Hohlvene und zum rechten Herzen. Vereint mit dem verbrauchten Blute der obern Hohlvene (blau), geht ein Teil durch die Lungenarterie zur Lunge, ein Teil durch den Ductus Botalli zur Aorta. Dies Blut (violett) speist den Körper, ein Teil wird durch die zwei Nabelarterien zur Placenta geführt.
