MeinerAnsicht nach bilden auch die Samenschoten ein charakteristisches Merkmal, diebei der gewöhnlichen Robinia bei der Reife glatt und unbehaart, bei R. neomexi-cana aber dicht und polsterartig mit klebrigen Haaren besetzt sind. Der große Strauch mit seinen handförmigen Blättern, den ich in der Nähedes Mt. Thomb Butte, bei Prescott fand, ist auch ungefähr 6 m hoch. Die Farbeder Blüten war rosa und karmingefleckt und verwaschen. Einmal sah ich Sträucherdavon in der Nähe von Congreß, Ariz. (Höhe 4000 Fuß ü. d. Meere), wohin michmein Bruder August Neujahr 1903 mitnahm, um Cacteen für die Placa in Prescottzu holen. Chilopsis linearis scheint auch noch wenig bekannt zu sein, da derName in keinem hiesigen Katalog zu finden ist. Rhamnus croceus Nuttall, hier Mount-Holly genannt, besitzt Blätter ähnlichder Hex oder der Steineiche. Ich fand diesen Strauch häufig hinter West-Prescott^geschützt hinter Felsen und anderen Gehölzen wachsend; am Hassayampa Creekfand ich ihn aber frei auf einem Felsen am Wege wachsend und mi
