Español: En este sitio histórico se enarboló por primera vez la Bandera Argentina creada por Manuel Belgrano el 27 de Febrero de 1812.
La idea de realizar un Monumento que conmemora este hecho data de 1872 con el proyecto del ingeniero Nicolás Grondona. A partir de entonces se suceden varios intentos: el de Lola Mora en 1909 y el concurso del año 1928 que quedó desierto. Finalmente, del Concurso de Anteproyectos del año 1939, surge el proyecto definitivo, que comienza a construirse en 1943. Los arquitectos Alejandro Bustillo y Angel Guido y los escultores Alfredo Bigatti y José Fioravanti fueron los autores del diseño ganador. El ingeniero arquitecto rosarino Angel Guido fue el director de la obra, oficialmente inaugurada el 20 de Junio de 1957. En el exterior se utilizó un revestimiento de mármol travertino sin pulir traído de la provincia de San Juan y el interior el mismo material pulido. Todos los días se lleva a cabo la Ceremonia de Izamiento de la Bandera en el mástil Mayor.

Argentina has no "freedom of panorama" provision in its copyright law. At least some think there is de facto freedom of panorama in Argentina regarding buildings:
It is uncontroversially accepted that buildings can be reproduced by paintings or photographs, without this reproduction infringing copyright.
