Summary[edit]

Description
English: SMILES CC1=NN(C(=O)C1NN=C2C=C(C=CC2=O)S(=O)(=O)O)C3=CC=CC=C3 This is the acid. Mordant Orange 37 is the sodium salt of this acid. The colour code shows how it is formed: File:3-amino-4-hydroxybenzenesulfonic acid.svg (in red) diazotation, then coupling with File:3-methyl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5(4H)-one.svg (in blue). The hydrazone form is more stable then the azo form (File:Mordant orange 37 (azo form).svg) due to the en:Hydrogen bond, shown as dotted lines.
