Description
English: Are these fascinating formations the result of faults or dikes? Aurorae Chaos is a region of chaos terrain on Mars at the eastern end of the outflow channels from Valles Marineris into Chryse Planitia.

The image cutout is less than 5 km (3 mi) across and the spacecraft altitude was 267 km (166 mi). For full images including scale bars, visit the source link.
