English: The Mourning of Muharram (or Remembrance of Muharram or Muharram Observances) is a set of rituals associated with both Shia and Sunni Islam.
العربية: إحياء محرم أو ذكرى محرم هو مناسبة مهمة في المذهب الشيعي، يبدأ الإحياء من بداية شهر محرم في التقويم الهجري، العديد من الأحداث التي تحدث في الإحياء تكون داخل الحسينيات.

Deutsch: Die schiitischen Passionsspiele, auch Muharram-Passionsfeiern (Ta'ziya, dt.: Beileidsausdruck), sind eine zehntägige Trauerzeremonie, in der die Schiiten ihren Kummer über den Tod des dritten Imam al-Husain ibn 'Alī in der Schlacht von Kerbela ausdrücken.
فارسی: سوگواری محرم عزاداری‌ها و یادبودهایی است که به مناسبت کشته‌شدن حسین بن علی و جمعی از یارانش که در واقعه کربلا روی داد، انجام می‌شود. این نبرد در سال ۶۱ هجری قمری در صحرای کربلا در عراق کنونی اتفاق افتاد.

عَلم یا جریده یکی از وسیله‌های نمادین بکار رفته در آیین سوگواری عاشورا در میان شیعیان است. این وسیله معمولاً چوبی بلندی به ارتفاع پنج شش متر که سر آن پنجه‌ای برنجین می‌گذارند و پارچه‌های رنگین قیمتی به چوب می‌بندند. علم از فلز ساخته شده، توسط علم‌دار حمل می‌شود.

हिन्दी: ताज़िया बाँस की कमाचिय़ों पर रंग-बिरंगे कागज, पन्नी आदि चिपका कर बनाया हुआ मकबरे के आकार का वह मंडप जो मुहर्रम के दिनों में मुसलमान/ शिया लोग हजरत इमाम हुसेन की कब्र के प्रतीक रूप में बनाते है और जिसके आगे बैठकर मातम करते और मर्सिये पढ़ते हैं।
Türkçe: Aşure Günü ya da Aşura Günü, hicri takvimin ilk ayı olan Muharrem ayının onuncu günüdür. İslam inancında bu günde birçok önemli olay meydana geldiğine inanılır ve bu güne kıymet atfedilir. Muharrem ayında oruç ibadeti de yapılır.
اردو: محرم کی عزاداری یا ماتم حسین یا عزاداری زیادہ تر شیعوں کے اعمال سے منسوب سالانہ عمل ہے۔ جس میں یہ حضرات ماتمی جلوسوں، مجلسوں، وعظ، سوگواری، خیرات اور سینہ کوبی کے ذریعے واقعہ کربلا میں میں شہید ہونے والے افراد کو یاد کرتے ہیں۔
