中文：穆哈兰姆月，是伊斯兰历第一个月，也是全年第一个聖月，本月不许打鬥。
हिन्दी: मुहर्रम इस्लामी वर्ष यानी हिजरी वर्ष का पहला महीना है। हिजरी वर्ष का आरंभ इसी महीने से होता है। इस माह को इस्लाम के चार पवित्र महीनों में शुमार किया जाता है।
עברית: מוּחָרָם הוא החודש הראשון בלוח השנה המוסלמי. בתקופה שקדמה לאסלאם (ה"ג'אהיליה") היה חודש מוחרם אחד מארבעת החודשים שהיו אסורים בלחימה בתרבות הערבית. זהו, ככל הנראה, המקור לשמו - "מוחרם" בערבית פירושו "אסור", והכוונה: "אסור בלחימה" (השוו למילה "חרם" בעברית מקראית, שפירושה "איסור" או "דברים שאסור לקחת אותם").
日本語: ムハッラム はヒジュラ暦における一番目の月の名称。次の月はサファル月。また、この月名から転じて、当月最初の10日間に行われる宗教行事（後述）を指す場合もある。
