Mycena metata (Fr.) P. Kumm. Image location: Beaverton, Washington Co., Oregon, USA Found in OGI campus, growing in grass. Odor alcaline (put a bunch of them in my hand); taste bad. Spores 10-12 × 4-5 microns. Basidia 2-spored. Cheilocystidia up to 55 microns long, all stalked. Diverticulate hyphae and clamps found in stipetipellis. M. filopes eliminated because it has shorter cheilocystidia (up to 30 microns) that are often sessile. Recognized by sight
