Summary[edit]

Description
English: The NASA Global Hawk 872 lands at 7:43 a.m. EDT, August 27, at the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia following a 22-hour transit flight from its home base at the Armstrong Flight Research Center in California. During the transit, the science instruments on the aircraft provided researchers data on Hurricane Cristobal in the Atlantic Ocean of the southeastern coast of the United States. The aircraft is one of two NASA Global Hawks supporting the Hurricane and Severe Storm Sentinel (HS3) mission through September.
